Reducing fabric waste in cutting rooms

Our garment factory produces small runs for several brands, and fabric waste from cutting is higher than we would like. Marker efficiency varies a lot depending on who prepares the layout and how often styles change.

We are evaluating automatic marker-making software and better planning to group orders with similar fabrics. We are also looking into selling offcuts to companies that make accessories or stuffing. Has anyone measured the savings from these changes, and which step brought the biggest improvement?
